Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about accounts and logging in

Here are some possible solutions

  • Make sure the email with the title “Your Zones of Regulation Access Codes” from [email protected] did not get stopped by your spam filter.
  • If someone else made the purchase on your behalf, the access codes were sent to that person’s email address. Contact them about providing you with your individual access code.
  • If you made a purchase and selected “Purchase Order” as the payment method, you will need to submit a PO and have it approved by our finance department before we can release the codes. After completing your order you will receive an order confirmation with a total cost, but it will indicate that there has been no payment made. You will receive a separate email with a link to submit your PO.
  • If you selected the payment method “Purchase Order” in error, or if your organization does not have a system for creating a PO, you will need to place a new order using Credit Card as the payment method. Unfortunately, we cannot change the payment method once an order has been submitted. After you have made a new purchase, contact us and we will void the old order. If you selected Purchase Order or Wire Transfer in the checkout, you have not been charged any money from the shop, even if you started entering your credit card information.

Here are some possible solutions

  • If you are typing the code, make sure you are not mixing up letter “O” and number “0” or letter “I” and number “1”
  • If you are copy/pasting the code, make sure there aren’t any additional spaces at the end of the code. In some rare cases, there may even be an invisible character. Try pasting the code, then hit the backspace/delete key once. If the last digit of the access code does not delete there may have been an invisible character preventing recognition.

If the code is not available, that means it has already been used once.

  • If your organization bought multiple codes, make sure someone else hasn’t already registered with that code. Check with the individual who made the purchase.
  • It’s possible you already created your account. Try logging in (digital.zonesofregulation.com/login.htm). If it says “username does not exist” then it’s possible there was a typo in your email address when you first registered. Please contact us so we can help you fix the login.

Your browser may be auto-completing the address when you try to go to digital.zonesofregulation.com and sending you to the registration page. Make sure you go to https://digital.zonesofregulation.com/login.htm.

If you have already created an account, then you need to add a new registration code in your account settings. Click on your user name in the upper right corner, then select ‘Account’

Enter your registration code in the box under ‘Add Access Code.’

Please contact us with your current email address and the email address you’d like to use for your login and we’ll make the change for you.

Questions about accessing the Digital Curriculum contents

  • If it is failing to load the login page at https://digital.zonesofregulation.com/login.htm either with a long delay or with an error message, please contact us so we can troubleshoot the problem. Let us know approximately how long the delay is before loading or if you are unable to load the page at all. If there is an error message please send a screen shot.
  • If you are getting an error message “Username does not exist, please try again” when clicking Log in, it’s possible there was a typo or other error when creating the account. Contact us with the email you tried to log in with and your company email (if different) and we will check your account.
  • If you click “Log in” and it does not give you an error message about your username, but it just fails to load the Curriculum page, showing either a progress bar or an error message. Please take a screen shot and contact us so we can troubleshoot the problem.
  • If you get a warning page that the site is unsecure and possibly malicious, please contact us and send a screen shot. Our security certificate is up to date, so you should not see this message and if you do it is safe to proceed, but letting us know will help us troubleshoot problems. Let us know if you were able to access the site by proceeding past the warning.

If you are seeing a message that “wp.zonesofregulation.com took too long to respond,” this may be a firewall issue with the subdomain used to host the platform’s front end. Please add this address to your network’s whitelist:

wp.zonesofregulation.com

For a full list of firewall requirements, see below.

If you are logging in from a school or other institution, the network firewall may be blocking transfer of some data. Try logging in from a different connection outside the organization, such as from your home. If you are able to open the items from a different location, then it is most likely a firewall issue. Please provide your organization’s IT department with the following address to add to the network whitelist. Have them contact us with any questions or concerns.

207.174.61.1

This address is for the short.io service we use to create abbreviated links to our resources. For a full list of firewall requirements, see below.

Questions about viewing the Curriculum resources

When you click the Presentation it will open in a new resizable window. You can display the Presentation on a second monitor or an interactive whiteboard by dragging the window onto that screen. Maximize the window to make the Presentation full screen.

The Interactive Presentation will scale to fit the browser window. However, if the window is taller than it is wide, you may experience strange results. On tablets, you should turn the screen to horizontal orientation for best results.

The items in the Resources are organized by Concept. You can scroll to find the item if you know the item’s title and the Concept where it was introduced or you can use the sorting/filtering feature to easily identify the item you are trying to find. Remember to unclick the category(-ies) for your next search.

Make sure you don’t accidentally have a filter selected. Look for a blue bar that indicates a filter is turned on. Click the (X) to remove the filter.

Click the triple-dot icon in the lower right corner of the video player to bring up the Captions selection.

The Guide (and the resources) normally open in a lightbox overlay on the page. If you want to open them in a new tab or window instead, right click (Window) or control-click (Mac) to bring up the contextual menu. The menu choices will vary depending on your browser, but there should be a choice to “Open in new window”

Alternatively, you can open the Guide via the Resource Library menu. All resource library items will open in a new window.

Questions about sharing the Curriculum with students

Making copies and digital distribution of printable items is permitted for classroom use. Distribution may not extend beyond the license holder’s students or client list. To print or download a resource, click the three bars in the upper left of the window.

The Interactive Presentations cannot be downloaded; they require a live internet connection to run. If this is causing problems for you due to unreliable/unavailable internet, please provide us with feedback.

Yes, there are several tools available for annotating, freehand drawing, and notetaking. Icons are listed along the top edge of the window when you open a resource. Click here for details. Your annotations are saved with your resource and will still be available the next time you open it.

To print or download a resource, click the icon with three lines in the upper left of the browser window. Selecting “Print” from your browser’s main menu will not work. Click here for details.

While many items across the digital curriculum are intended to be used by learners, the curriculum is intended to be accessed by an adult who can properly introduce and explain the content as it is revealed to learners either on screen or as printed extension activities.
